Luna Alcalay (b. 1928), Zagreb, Croatia

Pianist, teacher, and composer. Considered one of Austria’s foremost composers. Studied piano and composition at the Vienna Academy of Music. Received a scholarship to study in Rome in 1958. After returning to Vienna from Rome, she became professor of piano at the Academy of Music. She has focused primarily on chamber music.
