Studied at the University of Edinburgh and continued her music studies at Trinity College of Music, London. She has also studied for Joseph Horovitz, Robert Saxton, and Adam Gorb. Composes for orchestra, chamber ensemble, voice, choir, the stage, and the classroom; she has a broad and varied catalogue. Many of her compositions have received awards. In 2014 she won a British Composer Award in the category of choral music.
