Kay Swift (1897–1993), United States
Studied composition at the Institute of Musical Art, New York (now the Juilliard School). She was the first woman to compose a musical, Fine and Dandy (1930). She collaborated closely for a time with George Gershwin, and later with his brother Ira Gershwin.
