María Emma de las Mercedes Adam de Aróstegui (1873–1957), Spain

Pianist and composer, a native of Cuba but resident of Spain from age nine. Studied at Santiago de Compostela and for teachers including Jules Massenet. Toured and concertized extensively with the cellist Pablo Casals. Composed for chamber ensemble, solo instruments, and orchestra, as well as opera.
