Maria Theresia Ahlefeldt, née von Thurn und Taxis (1755–1810), Denmark
Generally considered Denmark’s first woman composer. Born in Regensburg, Germany; died in Prague, but resided for most of her life in Denmark. Her works include the librettos to a comic opera (La Folie, ou quel Conte!) and a ballet (Telemak paa Calypsos Øe, 1792). She also composed for voice and chamber ensemble.
