Maria Chefaliady-Taban (1863–1932), Romania

Pianist, composer, and music educator. Music studies at the Iasi Conservatory and at the Akademie für Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna. After a career as a concert pianist, she returned to Bucharest as a voice teacher. She composed a number of songs, many of them inspired by Romanian folk music.
