Kateřina Emingerová (1856–1937), Czech Republic

Pianist, music educator and writer, composer. Studied in her youth for teachers including Bedřich Smetana, Frank Skroup, and Adolf Čech; later she studied at the Hochschule for Musik, Berlin. She taught at the Prague Conservatory from 1980–1928. She was a prolific writer, authoring many books, articles, and essays, but also a prolific composer who wrote a number of piano pieces, chamber music, songs for voice and piano, choral works, and orchestral music.
