Faltis, Evelyn


Evelyn Faltis (1887–1937), Bohemia (now the Czech Republic)

Studied music in Paris and later at the Wiener Musikakademie. She was the first woman coach (of both soloists and choir) at Bayreuth. She wrote orchestral music (the symphonic poem Hamlet; the Phantastische Sinfonia), a piano concerto, chamber music, choral music, songs, and works for organ.
