Eleni Karaindrou (b. 1939), Greece
Studied piano and music theory at the Hellenikon Odeion, Athens, and folk music ethnology in Paris. Founded the Laboratory for Traditional Instruments at the ORA Kulturcentrum in Greece. She has composed music for many theatrical productions and films (including many by filmaker Theo Angelopoulos).
