Helene de Montgeroult (1764–1836), France

Pianist and composer. After her husband’s death, she studied at the Paris Conservatory beginning in 1795. She survived the French Revolution (certain sources say thanks to her compositions). She was considered one of the most successful woman composers of her day and was also a respected teacher. Her compositions include a collection of trio sonatas for piano.
