Catharina Palmer (b. 1963)

Early studies in violin, piano, and organ. In 1998 she earned a diploma in composition from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. Her teachers have included Sven-David Sandström, Pär Lindgren, Per Nørgård in Copenhagen, and Don Freund in the United States. A scholarship from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music brought her to Indiana University in the U.S. She is a founding member of the group Opus 96, which consists of seven women composers.
