Camilla de Rossi (ca. 1660–ca. 1710), Italy

Few details about Camilla de Rossi’s life are known, but she is one of the late 17th-century woman composers whose music has survived. She composed four oratorios for solo voices and instruments as well as a number of cantatas, including Santa Beatrice d’Este (1707), Il sacrifizio di Abramo (1708), Il figliuol prodigo (1709), Sant’ Alessio (1710), and Frà Dori, e Fileno.
