Esther Scliar (1926–1978), Brazil
Pianist, composer, and educator. Taught composition at the Instituto Villa-Lobos and the Seminários de Música Pró-Arte, Rio de Janeiro. She composed many choral works and works for chamber ensemble, for solo instruments, and for orchestra. She also wrote a number of books on music and music theory.
