Hope Temple, née Dotie Davis (1859–1938), Ireland

Composer. Assisted André Messager with the opera Mirette (she also became Mrs. Messager). She is most known for a number of popular songs, including Auf Wiederseh’n (text: Henry Wadsworth Longfellow), The Poet’s Song (text: Alfred Tennyson), and This is all I can say (text: Thomas Hood).
