Joan Trimble (1915–2000), Ireland

Composer and pianist. Studied at Trinity College in Dublin, the Royal Irish Academy of Music, and the Royal College of Music, London. During WWII she gained popularity as part of a piano duo with her syster Valerie. Her compositions include an opera, Blind Raftery (1957), which was the first opera broadcast on television by the BBC, and many songs.
