Svea Welander (1898–1985)

Composer from Åkarp, Sweden. Studied composition for Lars-Erik Larsson. Organist in the Burlöv Church from 1927–1964 and taught at the Hvilan folk high school. Her husband Waldemar Welander was also a composer and a pupil of Larsson and also a professional church musician. The Welanders and Larsson made up the core of Åkarp’s periodically quite rich musical life.
