Maude Valérie White (1855–1937), United Kingdom
Born in Normandy, raised in England. She took piano lessons as a young child and went on to study composition and counterpoint in London and Torquay and later at the Royal Academy of Music in London. She wrote songs influenced by German Lieder as well as ballet and chamber music.
