Emilie Zumsteeg (1796–1857), Germany

Composer, choir director, conductor, singer, pianist, piano teacher. In 1830 she founded the first women’s choir in Württemberg, and she initiated and conducted performances of oratorias and opera productions. She frequently performed herself as a singer and a pianist. She composed around 60 piano pieces and a large number of choral works (for women’s choir, men’s choir, and mixed choir).
